Parents Discipline in Love

There is no love like the love between parents and their children. For most of us, as we age we begin to see more and more the wisdom of our parents. When we were children and our parents disciplined us, it was perhaps seen only as punishment, or as suffering given to us for no particular reason, but when we grow older we begin to see that our parents disciplined us so that we might learn the difference between good and evil. So, discipline wasn't meant to inflict punishment, but to teach us and to show us the proper way to live. If we understand discipline in this way we will see that our parents disciplined us because they loved us, because they cared enough to teach us about love. As children, this can be a very hard thing to understand, but maturity can help us to understand the reasons why.
